Description: Mediterra is a 1,647-acre, gated, master-planned community being developed by The Bonita Bay Group. With less than 950 residences, the community is being designed with the intimacy, charm and classical style of the Mediterranean region of Europe.
Location: The Mediterra community is located in northern Collier County and Bonita Springs in southern Lee County. The entrance to the community will be on the extension of Livingston Road, stretching from Immokalee Road in North Naples to Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs. The sales center is located at the northwest corner of Immokalee and Livingston roads in North Naples until November 2000, at which time the sales center will be located within the entrance to Mediterra.
Golf: Renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio is designing two 18-hole championship courses at Mediterra. To ensure member access and optimal playing conditions, membership will be limited to 275 members per course. Fazio's unique design for the courses at Mediterra will integrate existing natural preserve areas, man-made lakes and water features, contours and land forms to create a dramatic golf experience. The first course, The South Course, will open in November 2000. Construction on The North Course will begin at this same time and will open for play in early 2002.
The Village: The focal point of Mediterra, The Village, includes a 25,000-square-foot clubhouse with formal and casual dining areas; a Tennis, Swim and Fitness Center featuring 10 Har-Tru tennis courts; an Enrichment Center for lifelong learning and social activities; and a lakeside amphitheater. Grand pastoral gardens and fountains create an extraordinary ambience for this social and cultural centerpiece of the community. Full Tennis, Swim and Fitness Center facility, heated swimming pool will open in early 2002, and Enrichment Center.
Beach Club: A private beach club, for the exclusive use of Mediterra resident memebers and their guests, is located on the Gulf of Mexico at Bonita Beach. The Beach Club includes an elevated facility with casual eating areas, heated swimming pool and deck, restrooms and shower facilities.
Recreation: Miles of paved walking and biking trails will meander through Mediterra connecting six themed neighborhood parks designed as contemplative retreats.
The Developer: The Bonita Bay Group was recently honored with the Urban Land Institute’s coveted Award for Excellence in recognition of the meticulous land planning, environmental stewardship, exceptional amenities and social and recreational activities at the company’s flagship community, Bonita Bay.
